When I have time, I will definitely read Jezebel — I found it via FabSugar, a really boring fashion blog that had been linking Jezebel a lot, and then when I realised Jezebel site was actually a better blog I relocated some browsing their way. But I'm actually not their Anonymous Model person. Wish I'd thought up that gig! I've made it my goal to find out who Tatiana or whatever is, and buy her a drink, because from what I've seen of her columns she seems cool. I thought maybe she might be Shea Prueger, since she attended college before modeling, but that's just a total unsubstantiated guess.

You got us good Jenna

I`m kinda satisfied now that I know who the anonymous model is :D I really enjoyed a lot of it, and also learned a good english, she really is very articulative ( is that a word, Jenna ^_^ ? ). And it`s a shame for the industry that hasn`t take a good, long look to this great model. I won`t worry though, obviously she can make it big in any other field with any intelligence required.

yeah, Jenna! I'll miss the modelling pictures but hopefully she'll keep up with the candids on modeljenna, and the writing is so compelling, I'm a daily tatyana reader, and I can't wait for a new entry on the blog.

she kinda reminds me of tatyana usova. very pretty and ariticulate young lady

Wow, and the mystery is solved! Since Jenna has moved on from modelling, I assume this means the thread will slowly be winding down.

Jenna, you've really provided an interesting, and at times disheartening, look into the life of a model. I admire your courage to tell it like it is and do so in an articulate, well-written manner. Good luck with your writing! ;)

"Jenna Sauers, the girl with the brains, the bone structure and the blog, is coming homer after her galmorous OE.

Sauers grew up in Christchurch, won a prestigious scholarship to the University of Iowa, then spent two year modelling for magazines
like Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire.

However, between shoots, and hair and make-up marathons, Sauers secretly blogged about how screwed-up the modelling industry really was.
It tolerated subtle racism and sexual harassment, she wrote.

" There's potential for exploitation in any relationship which is based on a 14yr old girl being photographed by a 47 yr old man."

Sauers quit modelling 3 weeks ago. Of course, she left in style, outing herself on her blog and telling the world she'd rather be a writer.
Her story was picked up by the international media.

Come next month, Sauers will be in Aucklandto write about Fashion Week, and she seems more excited to be writing about the catwalk
than she was to model for Karen Walker and Zambesi at the same event last year.

"I want to write in such a way that some of the magnitude of fashion week- the many many hours of labour, the economics of it all,
the sheer organisational heft that goes into producing such an ephemeral series of events- comes across", she wrote in an email last week.

And although she loves living in New York, Sauers is looking froward to a fix of Godzone. "I naturally get a little homesick from time to time.
New York is fantastic becaouse it's such an international cross-roads that I often have friends from home passing through, and they are good
about stuffing gingernuts and manuka honey into their suitcases....but NZ remains home fro me"

She said it best in her blog during Fashion Week 2008:" Like a lot of young Kiwis, I need to be away from NZ now. But I also need it to
be here when I am ready to come back."

Since Jenna no longer models, there most likely wouldn't be any posts regarding her career in this thread. To avoid this thread becoming focused on her journalism career, this thread will be locked. While you can no longer post here, the thread will still be available to view in SC for anyone looking for information on Jenna. :flower:
