^because she wanted to concentrate on college. she did do some films after that but they never received as well. i think l word has really supplanted her into that category as icon because not only was that role in flashdance memorable(not for me though)but i think playing bette is as memorable. she's an amazing actor...very smart.

and yes,she is gorgeous. i think with her stature she pulls off those 40's silhouettes really well.
