MEET THE GIRLS FROM OUR AW13 CAMPAIGN



South Korean model Kwak’s modelling career began when she entered a televised modelling competition as a child. With her striking oriental features and 5 foot 9 stature it’s no wonder she has been snapped up by the likes of Christopher Kane, Vivienne Westwood and now River Island.

How did you get discovered?

I was always interested in modelling and fashion as a child. I entered a Supermodel competition in Korea run by SBS (one of the biggest TV stations in Korea) and won second place and everything started from there.

What has been your most fun modelling experience?

I recently did a video shoot for Vogue Italia in Vienna which was incredible. Through modelling I have visited many beautiful places, I did a shoot on board a helicopter and have even hung upside down in a tree once which was tough but an amazing experience with great people.

Describe your perfect day off

Mostly at home alone relaxing with movies, music and books.

What beauty tips do you swear by?

Cleansing and moisturizing is the most important thing. Before and after jobs I always use a moisture mask to condition my skin.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I like to go to JeJu Island (a great resort place in Korea) by myself as it is the best place to recharge and it brings me great joy as well. My parents are worried for my safety as it’s not common for a young girl to travel alone in Korea, so I feel very guilty going.
