that 1950s image is so wildly liberating and intoxicating; all that with a wet jet black slick of hair on an otherworldly gorgeous face of course. they had sense to leave such a striking image untethered by distracting typefont. i think Raul at American VOGUE has been trying to touch this but wow they have a lot to live up to.
