John Rocha S/S 06 - London

Hee the shoes are not unlike our clogs are they? :P I actually think they're cute. Not the clogs.

 Hell no!

  This is GORGEOUS!!:woot:

All the dresses are just so floaty and summery. I love the detailing, the colours EVERYTHING! I even like those huge bows which should look comical but actually look beautifully dramatic.

i'm not blown away. i think the strongest piece is the first one of post #10. the combination of the sheer white layer over the rainbow packed ruffles is super cool. B)

Dale!

That's what I meant to say

Its lovely - I have always liked John Rocha. I can see a heavy influence from the Broken Bride collection and some influences from the last Demeulemeester collection. Both very beautiful collections so worthy of some channelling form Rocha I'd say.

beautiful and poetic, i love all the 'ruffling' and the proportions as tinuviel pointed out...

this is by far my fav. collection so far !
just absolutely gorgeous . .
& this purple dress is just

I love that dress too! And all the dark clothes ... Not as fond of the cream, however. It begins to look a bit too scrappy.

I always thought perle and I were the only ones in the Rocha fanclub, as we call it :P

  lovelyly ...though I've much preferred previous collections. :ninja:

Only spotted two dresses I like, the rest is really blah...... what I call "avant gardist wannabe..." ^_^ ....... It's all really confusing and there's too much going on on each garment.....

absolutely agree...

it's very nice...

also echoes of the cdg 'witches' collection...:innocent:

He's one of my fav designers. This doesn't disappoint me, but I think I prefer some of his previous collections more. Everything very nice, but the shoes are.....

Trying to do big bows & not being misunderstood as a copy of V&R is a difficult thing...

I've always  John Rocha. Really intricate work, his construction and details are always amazing. Thanks perlefine, although I would add one Rocha dress from this collection that really made me smile, the "reverse" evening gown:

from a design standpoint, it's a beautiful, interesting collection... although personally, i'm not so into 'organic' design and prefer sharper lines. the shiny black puff-sleeve coat is adorable though (those puffs look like they *really* want to reach the end of the arm!)

I love this collection...great continuity and, being a slightly somber person, I was happy to see black that I could see working in spring summer.
Favorite pieces were the black satin dress with fabulous sleeves in post #8

And the black coat/cropped pants look in #7
