I love the character too! I can't imagine any other actor but him playing Capt. Jack. He's perfect for it

I have to say that I really hope he follows Marlon Brando's advice to him and chooses his projects more carefully in the future. I'm really not sure do I like the way his career is taking at the moment. I'm so bored of Pirates of the Caribbean hype, the ***-licking from the media and blockbuster films.

personally I don't think Dead Man's chest was good
johnny was what I expected, you know funny and kinda weird but the story and the rest was just
the first was really good but the second I didn't like it at all

i saw - dead mans chest, couple of days ago.. and i feel the same .. i didnt enjoy it that much.. something was lacking.. it went on and on with the fighting with the main charecters.. the special effects was good , but the storyline and direction was of... johnny depp wasnt used correctly.. i did see superman the same week and enjoyed that more .. so maybe thats why i don't feel as strong to the pirates movie.. but it didnt stand out or balance out with the hype. it made lots of money on the box office , but quality wise it was of. i wasnt interested to see it the second time.. while i saw superman 3 times already..so i hoping the next pirates movie can do a better job
