It appears that things are icing over early this year. Model Ava Smith arrived backstage for the Spring 2014 season as a blond, and now a wave of other catwalkers have lightened up—including Saskia de Brauw (who debuted her freshly bleached crop on the December cover of Marie Claire Netherlands) and Julia Nobis (who arrived at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, on the arm of Joseph Altuzarra, sporting a new platinum hue). I can’t help but make the connection between these supers and snowshoe hares—both species fading to white as temperatures drop.
