On Wednesday night in New York, the label staged their debut Fashion Week presentation - a blend of both lines - to the world's press and buyers - and it was no small affair.
A (mostly British) creative team comprising stylist Karl Templer, hairdresser Eugene Souleiman, make-up artist Mark Carrasquillo, creative director Anita Borzyszkowska, and campaign photographer Craig McDean, got to work on a cast of 15 leading models including Kati Nescher, Daria Strokus, Julia Nobis and Hanne Gaby Odiele to bring J Brand's languidly sexy and cool aesthetic to life.
Focusing on extremes of texture and silhouette, slouchy trousers sat alongside soft shearling and cashmere; super-heavy knitwear mixed with the sleek polished lines of skinny leather jeans; while soft silks were toughened up with leather boyfriend jeans.
