WOMEN'S FASHION By ALAINNA LEXIE BEDDIE

You’ve seen her on runways for Derek Lam, Victoria Beckham and Alexander Wang over the past few days of New York Fashion Week. Tonight, 20-year-old Julia Nobis walks in Proenza Schouler, and stars in their current spring 2013 campaign. When she’s not in front of the camera, Brooklyn-based Nobis focuses on college courses in medicine.

Where are you from?

Sydney, Australia.

What time do you usually get out of bed?

I normally get up around 7 or 8.

Do you have a special routine to prepare for fashion week?

I’d be lying if I said I did. I try to prepare for it every season and every season it just sneaks up on me. Always catches me by surprise.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Manhattan?

I never go out in Manhattan these days. Well actually I just never go out; and if I do, I’m never the one to decide where to go.

“Downton Abbey” or “Game of Thrones”?

“Game of Thrones”! Nothing like a bit of sex, violence and drama to brighten your Sunday night.

What’s the beauty product that you can’t live without?

Moisturizer. Any kind will do; I just need to always moisturize.

What’s your favorite job to date?

(laughing) Definitely not the one where I was covered in seafood.

What’s your go-to carryall bag?

Alexander Wang backpack. My entire life fits in there.

Converse.

Describe your perfect day off.

A day that I had off work and didn’t have to study instead!

How do you know you’ve made it?

I don’t know if I have.

What’s on your iPod Shuffle these days?

I’ve been listening to a lot of classical lately I guess, and Gorillaz is always a go-to for me. A whole lot of Australian hip-hop too. Haha, I guess I’ve been a little homesick.

And finally, what are you most excited about during New York fashion week?

The end. I really need to do laundry and clean my apartment and just haven’t had time this past week.
