I actually feel bad for Julien Macdonald. He tries so hard, but is so out of touch with how women actually dress. There are two pieces here that I love (the black padded jacket with studded/spiked shoulders and the black shredded minidress on McNeil), but that does not make any of this relevant or tasteful. He's doing an 80's vision of the future which lends itself to all sorts of fabulosity, but he lacks the edge and a subversive intellectual strain, which renders him incapable of going beyond the making of period pieces.
I mean, even Donatella moved on from the figure-skating sex-gowns.
