MacDonald Quits Givenchy

Just as we thought that things were starting to get better for
Julien MacDonald at Givenchy, he decides to throw in the towel.
The Welsh designer announced last week that he will leave the
house when his contract expires in April. McDonald has described
his time at Givenchy as "a nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon my
worst enemy" and has said that the first few months he spent at
the Parisian house will "haunt" him for the rest of his life. His
predecessor Alexander McQueen has expressed similar emotions about
his Givenchy tenure. Now, who will be the next victim?

It's about time.

yes, his contract expired, now lets see who will fit the Givenchy chair...

my nominations : Martin Grant, Ioannis Guya or Veronique Branquinho
what do you all think?

who should fill in the Givenchy possition?

Absolutely with you on your choices, Lena. :flower: It's probably going to be between Grant or Branquino. I also thought (just maybe) Miuccia Prada.

Wasn't sure if this was going to happen or not. Am slightly shocked but agree it was time for him to go.

I had a feeling this wasn't going ahead much further. I'm glad though,he was doing a pretty mediocre job at Givenchy.

Picks? Well,I suppose Pascal Humbert or Jérôme Dreyfuss, maybe?

i also agree on both Pascal (he's been real hidden lately)
& Dreyffuss scott*

i so hope the Givenchy people follow tFS, it would help them a lot choosing something proper for the House of Givenchy

edited to add : Ralf Rucci -how could i leave him out of my nominations :ninja:

No joking about that. If these corporates would listen to 'the people' perhaps many of us wouldn't be so disinterested in luxe houses. Speaking much on my own behalf.

I haven't seen Pascal much these days but as I hear his name mentioned every-so-often,I'm sure he's in some quiet digs designing away. I very much like his work. As I do Jerôme. I think after McQueen,it would be logical to continue on some sort of innovative pattern.

Ralph..yes indeedy! I would also say Viktor & Rolf even though I don't wantto go there after all those rumours of YSL.

i feel sorry for julien, his clothes haven't always been the best but i think he gets too much hate.
