For spring / summer 2013 it was as if Juun J created a set of clean, monochromatic looks, and then toyed with them a bit – exaggerating shoulders, elongating sleeves, playing with volume and adding layers. Tailored shorts and baseball caps gave a youthful and casual edge to suits, while the trench coat was recut and reimagined as a jumpsuit or a shirt to be tucked into pants. The title of the collection was DU_AL, the show’s notes explaining “the line between outerwear and innerwear are blurred breaking any preconceived ideas of functionality.”

The Juun J collection was inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s 1948 film Drunken Angel, a fact which explains the exaggerated ’40s silhouette “that is contrasted sharply by slim fitting elements” – a further reference to the theme of duality.

Such a strong collection  his skills with volume just come effortlessly here, I really think he's making his voluminous silhouettes appealing when many could fail while trying to do so.

Although, those textured pieces are reaching Tisci territory and should stay there imo, but I guess you could let them pass when so much of this is remarkably well-executed.

Thanks for the pictures, Lee MG Tisci.

Here's the collection in motion:

Agree with you about those textured pieces (I personally was not the least bit impressed by those by the way, would have been better off without them). But I loved the collection towards the end, Juun J. would be a great successor for Lanvin Menswear if such a thing were to ever occur.
