JW Anderson F/W 2020.21 London

Not very good but then again I had very high expectations. I only liked both of Kaia's looks, the knit dresses with their little capes, that one mint green satin dress, the hexagonal dresses and the aqua brillo pad dress. Mostly annoyed by the glittery rags used as epaulette, the coats with giant collars lacked finesse and the color palette was just sad. Very dissapointed considering just how good his menswear show was.

We still have Loewe though...

There was definitely a lot going on but I personally am in love with those coats!

I think the biggest standout are the shoes and accessories! The chain bag could be easily the next hottest it bag!

Surprisingly bad for him. Shapeless and uninspired.

Not being his fan number 1 in the past, I find myself liking his collection again, as with the menswear in January.
It's mainly because I find most looks much simplified, and while still characteristically quirky (or sometimes plain silly - like the taut conic coat), the execution has left behind some of the antics and over-torturedness that plagued a lot of his work in the past.

He's definitely matured as a designer, thanks mainly to his collaboration with Loewe, and it shows.

A bit of a step down from the last couple of seasons - which were sensational, but still lots good stuff here. I like how he built from the wool and knits from last season, sneaking them in details to give the looks this great texture. I just love how sophisticated his brand has gotten, even those huge coats have a weird sort of elegance.

I think he needs to consider injecting a bit of narrative into his collections.

This belligerently free associative thing is wearing a bit thin for me, both here and at Loewe. I like the inventive spirit he has, but it’s time to tether it down a bit. I don’t need a big Galliano Fantasia, but I think Marc’s show this season in NY proved that a bit of storytelling goes a long way. It gives one a reason to care about the clothes.

I really like this! It’s a very nice collection that maybe represents what we have seen so far at LFW, but elevated and more desirable! That week has been either about sellable separates, whimsical dresses or delirious Student creations. This provides everything!
Very beautiful tailoring with the coats, the very sensual black dresses and that stunning knitted dress! It still has a very dreamy, almost romantic side and then, there are those unwearable stuff that are like mandatory for anyone showing at LFW.

‘The strongest collection of the week...Such an underwhelming week.

I quite like this. It has the air of the Raf auditioning for Dior collection. He certainly finds new ideas and want to explore into eveningwear.

This is pretentious, lazy and just plain dreadful.

Also - aren't those big "dresses" from Chalayan? He did them beautifully..

I hate him. I find his collections so pretentious and ugly. eww

Im aware that people think JWA overrated, but I disagree, he make me feel something and this is a lot theses days. Some looks here gave me chills, its just so good, fun and fashion. JWA is for sure one the forces that is leading us into this new decade.
