JW Anderson F/W 2022.23 Milan

His latest menswear show was fun and I had high hopes for this one as it marked some kind of switch from his lockdown experiments, but I guess we're back to that uncomfortably awkward aesthetic now... I don't know, but it doesn't work. Even the "Carrie" pieces don't make it for me and I was quite excited when Anderson previewed them on instagram.

Going a bit against the grain here, but I absolutely loved it. I think it's supposed to be a bit try hard-y and I love the mixed grunge and 80s aesthetic.

I enjoy the wigs. Not because they're good but because they're fun. Cheap and nasty in that satisfying way.

A look book presentation should have a focus on the looks, and it's not happening here. Photos for the sake of photos. I'd expect something like this to be an editorial in Purple magazine.

It's like those digital shows that have plagued the industry's last three seasons. Videos for the sake of videos.

I feel like I can’t even review this since I can’t properly see the clothes. Probably an strategy for us to focus on the accessories, which are actually good.
