Kaelen Haworth didn’t want to fuss with an overarching inspiration for resort. “I decided to focus on the fabrications, which is always the biggest inspiration anyway,” she said, holding up a black silk crepe jacket that she bonded to pale blue charmeuse, creating a chic contrast. That color and textural play grounded the collection and was also worked into ruffled skirts and tops, but Haworth, who is currently in the running for the U.S. Woolmark Prize, smartly left the edges raw to keep things modern and not too precious.
A languid gown with Fortuny-style pleating bore a relaxed elegance and her knitwear — particularly a gray ribbed sweater with power-stretch qualities — came in washed-out colors with structured fits.
