I'm not sure about how to credit the images taken from this book, and I don't have time to figure it out right now because I have to run off somewhere, so instead of posting the pictures I'll just link the book's page on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0789410567/wwwhistoryofa-20
Check out the smaller images under the cover image, and you can see Karen looking all lovely, delicate and brunette. And thanks to http://makeupbeat.com/blog/2007/08/15/mary-quant/ for the tip.

Feel free to credit the pictures properly and post 'em here, if you want to. Oh, and thank you for the scans, BerlinRocks. :)

I'm posting the picture here directly ;)

Jack White's wife wants 100 kids

Thursday, August 16 2007, 11:12 BST

By Alex Fletcher
Jack White's wife wants 100 kids

Model Karen Elson, wife of White Stripes rocker Jack White, wants to have 100 kids, claims her father.

Elson's father, who is a carpenter based in Oldham, told the Manchester Evening News: "She's really taken to being a mum. She told me she wants 100 now. Mind you, you can when you've got a nanny."

Talking about his son-in-law's reaction, he commented: "Jack has told me he is over the moon, he's as happy as Larry."

On the subject of the origins of his grandchild's name he said: "I'm not sure where the name Henry comes from, it's not a family name on our side.

The model's father added: "Karen said it's too early to tell who he takes after in the looks department. It is hard to say when they're young and wrinkly."

White and Elson had their second child, Henry Lee White, earlier this month. Their daughter Scarlett Teresa is now 15-months old.

I'm not sure if I posted this image before or not, but I took it at the L.A. performance of the CB at the after party. It's so incredible to me that the start of this thread features so many Karen "haters"...by that I mean people that comment on her not being that beautiful or long legged. I remember meeting her in NYC, while her band was being photographed for DAZED and CONFUSED mag. I was lending some clothes/access for the shoot, and was introduced officially to her...and I have to say it was nothing short of breathtaking. I have had the priveledge of running into many models here in L.A.- from Gizelle to Shalom Harlow-etc... and have to say that Karen was truly one of those rare faces that embodies the term "super model". Her stunning pale complexion and statuesque slender build along with her wild red hair make her a real original. With or without makeup she has a unique face. Then you get to her voice!! I couldn't believe how incredible her vocals were on "Where have all the flowers gone" She has a truly heavenly sound. Looks like God really dosed her well - great DNA + angel voice.

Aren't you the girl who runs Show Pony and does all the paintings? Your art is wonderful if that is you. Thanks for your Karen story too!

The picture from Ultimate Makeup & Beauty Book is so perfect! Karen is such a classic-beauty.

I sort of met her two ways,
1. my friend who went on tour with the White Stripes told me that she was sweet and funny. It was while she was pregnant the first time and his girlfriend at the time made her some sweet soft baby clothes. She was very appreciative.

2. On both occasions I had the chance to sit with her I realized that she has amazing style and taste. She was wearing at the shoot this stunning headpiece from the 1920's that she scored for very little money at one of the flea markets in London. She was getting her makeup done and was chatting with a lot of the stylists. I didn't know at the time that she was only like 25 or 26 and found her to have a great curious and creative spirit about her. My friend shared that she has amazing costumes and clothes to die for. Which I suppose models get priveledged access too...sigh. But like I said she was stunning and her singing voice was to die for! She has sort of a timeless quality in person. Almost a year after that shoot- when this pic I posted was taken she was merely a month or two pregnant for the second time. You couldn't tell at all, her amazon long slender legs and cute sheer babydoll costume didn;t reveal a clue!
this pic (taken by photographer jeaneen lund) is for a t-shirt painting design I made of karen-where she is shown crying. I usually take liberty when painting to enhance or change people's features- so the eyebrows and heavy makeup/tears are my own touch.

Wow has Karen seen that painting? Maybe you could get a copy to her. I'll bet she'd love it.

So was Karen a sweetie? Most models have reputations of having bad attitudes and a small amount of people have said that about Karen, but mostly I've heard nothing but good things about her.
