This is very pretty stuff, but what happened to the breathtaking sculptures Szczotarska used to create? I'm saddened by this.

At least with Lowe-Holder, I could see that she was using a lot of things similar to what she's done in the past, maybe she just doesn't have new ideas or wants to be safe...but with this, she's made a total departure from what she did before which requires thinking and creating about something new ... but in my mind she's gone backwards.

Hmm the description sounds good to me, but i just don't see it in the clothes--perhaps it comes through more in person?

OK so after thinking about the description a bit more, I guess it's just something you need to experience and see in person...
I was just surprised at first because it was such a change...all of these fit into canonical representations of clothes--Jacket, Skirt, Blouse--whereas before they hadn't. That threw me off a bit.
 
I still really don't like those shoes w/the button :(

It looks bad doesn't it. The only "3D effects" i can see are in the blouse.

And it looks like editorial. It doesn't really show the clothes:-P

I agree nqth--it does look like an editorial...I too wish the photos did a better job of describing the interesting ideas that purportedly are being explored
 
It's as if you're looking at a Karen Walker collection, and I love Karen, but it isn't Katarzyna. I like the 2nd look from #3 best, it doesn't seem as 'done before' as the rest.

To me it sounds they try to give it a different turn because it was a failed collection. Or it's really that magical and we need to see it in person and I'm wrong. ^_^
 
I agree with you all,it's really different. Aside from the play on form,the play with obvious detail has vanished as well. I was looking at these only the other day as I was surprised to see Katarzyna was with Blow now....the only thing I could really find myself loving was the first trench.
 
Hmm...is that a way of making the clothes more saleable...you know, to make conventional, "identifiable", tops, skirts, pants, etc., and then add "touches" of what you used to do? Is this how you need to do it to be commercially viable?
