Katie Moore

Definitely.

I guess the "hair affair" (cut, color and Karen Elson vibes some can get from it) explains such reactions. Those who like her are perhaps afraid her hairdo could be a limiting factor and those who don't badly want her to be just that hairdo and nothing else.
I'm not denying her makeover is exactly what propelled her to her current level, her new look definitely commands attention for obvious reasons, but she's really expressive and regardless if you're looking at digitals, random pics or actual fashion photographs, she really delivers and knows how to channel various emotions or embody different characters without losing her own touch.
Of course, time will tell but as you said quite well, we only know around 1/4 to 1/3 of the campaigns so it's really weird to say her time is over when it's just about to begin.

She hasn't done that much work yet, and while her work isn't bad, I don't think it stands out nor is she very expressive. My opinion, of course. And it's true, I'm not a fan of the give-a-model-a-haircut-and-thus-a-career trend that's been prevalent lately.

I agree, it's a matter of opinion - or personal perception, let's say. I'm sure some people see Rianne van Rompaey as much more expressive than I do (not trying to say she's not a great model because obviously she is).

Then as for this trend, it's nothing really new. Anyone remember Paul Pavlovska (the makeover included, along with the platinum blonde/big dark brows combo) a first name change from a regular Katya or whatever to some very masculine Paul? Or Ranya Mordanova and her infamous Spock haircut? And once upon a time there was a bright-red-haired Stam too etc.

While I'm also no fan of this trick, there are always cases where the hair changes are brilliant. Of course, that's subjective as well but I think in Katie's case it was a good move and if the cut and color can (heavily?) remind of Karen Elson's former look, Katie's features are much smoother and with a similar hairdo the results aren't the same and she managed to make it her own.

True, and that's why I said "about to begin" in one of my previous posts. And while she was already active prior that makeover, the change is still quite recent and the amount of work she's done since is more than decent.

sure, i'm a fan of her hairdo, but
she's the more expressive new face yet imo
and the expressions she delevers never fall flat
even if this look suits her so much i know i would love her anyway

Here's to nostalghia ^ :flower:

Because an MSGM campaign is soooo blue chip, right ? lol....When I said 'no campaigns' I meant the major shows she walked...Givenchy, SLP, Moschino, etc...no need to be catty when I'm simply discussing a model on a modeling forum.

lol Nice try, but you didn't mention ''blue chip'', you just said ''campaign''. ;) And you didn't mention blue chips shows either, you just talked about the shows that she opened and closed and tbh, most of them weren't blue chip. (she didnt open/close Givenchy, SLP, Moschino) :)

Saying her breakout season was a miss ''because she had 0 campaigns'', when not even half of the campaigns had been released, is not ''simply discussing a model on a modeling forum''. You seemed pressed, and like you were trying to put her down and dimish her work.

Her first runway season was exceptional, that's for sure, but when I think of models who surpassed their first decent runway season and achieved longevity, I think of girls who booked multiple blue chip campaigns and became photographer/stylist/editor darlings after their breakout season. Even the girls who have broken out in the past couple of seasons hold true to this. I guess time will tell, campaign season isn't over yet. I just find it hard to put faith in a career that rides on a haircut. Even Peyton Knight, whose career began with her chop, has an exceptional face, I believe (and a much more conventional haircut/style at that). Obviously, this is a trend I dislike.

We disagree, clearly, and that's fine. But there's no need to attack me. I respect your opinion and only wish to talk about what this thread was intended for.

I think she is in the W ed shot by Mert & Marcus for the august issue.

I wasn't attacking you. Sorry if came out like that. But you said one thing, and then when it happened, you were like ''no, but what I mean is...''. But anyway, I agree with that you said now.

She's in the wang campaign as well.

I expected her to be in the A.W anyway, but I'm very happy for her.

Her print work so far has been quite impressive, imo. Only top magazines. So happy for her!

I wonder why she's not doing HC.

so happy for her print work, really good in matter of quality and how she delivers!
