Keane

what does 'bedshaped' mean?...
is it some english thing?...

*i don't get it...:ninja:...
can anyone please explain...

thanks......

I'm not Irish or anything, but... I always took to mean in the shape of a bed, supposing that a bed symbolized something on the 'inside' or something. But that's just my interpretation...:flower::blush:

hmmmmm...bedshaped and legs of stone...? makes me think of death for some reason, but "what do i know? what do i know?":innocent:

"You'll knock on my door, and up we'll go"... I always took bedshaped as just him 'in bed' with somebody:blush:

cute:lol:

hmmm, you actually could have a good point there about death b/c he sings 'in white light, i dont think so'.

yeah and the first verse is kinda nostalgic, like looking back...i don't know... but that's the interpretation that was working for me when i first heard the song...it really spoke to me. that one and sunshine...

Keane are so bland and blahhh..
Britpop revival is not gonna happen :( ...
Coldplay, Keane, Travis, the new Oasis stuff...we've heard it all before! I think they should be more experimental with their music..we've got Robbie Williams for easy-listening. :P

so...basically the lyrics make no sense to anyone?......

oh good-just checking...
glad it wasn't just me......

thanks anyway guys...

:flower:

I saw keane last year.....i found them a bit dull

Found this::flower:

"bedshaped is about feeling that you've been 'left behind' by an old friend or lover. and about hoping that you'll be reunited one day so that you can live out the end of your lives together the way you started them. i guess there's some anger at a friend who wants to move on in search of new, exciting, more sophisticated things, leaving behind the simple things you used to share....and a hope that they'll eventually want to get away from the bright lights and come back home. it's a sad and angry song, but also full of hope. i hope that makes sense.
I think i'm right in saying that in hospital when someone is ill or infirm and has to spend a lot of time in bed they can become 'bedshaped'. it sounds a bit depressing...well i guess it is a bit depressing in reality, but in the context of the song i wanted to suggest old age and frailty, along the lines that i mentioned before about two old friends coming back together in the twilight of their lives. it's great that you guys like bedshaped...it's a song that means a lot to us." - Tim

And I also found this interesting about 'She Has No Time'::flower:

"I always find this quite a hard thing to tell people about, cos I don't know how an audience is going to react...but this song is basically about being in love with someone and they're not in love with you, and this was something that happened to me a few years ago *crowd awws* But anyway, picture it in your minds. Anyway, this fellow here [Tim] wrote this song, as a way of sort of comforting me at the time *crowd awws and cheers* Anyway, it really is a song that means so much to me, because it was basically Tim putting his arm around my shoulder and saying 'Don't worry, this happens to everyone at some stage'." - Tom

i actually bought the CD a long time ago... but never listened to it :innocent: maybe i will now

NOE! godd job, detective! and my interpretation was that the two lovers were meeting in death.^_^ morbid, i know but that's where i was at the time.

em, if you dust off this CD make sure you're in a good mood and not depressed or pining over anyone when you listen to it. that unrequited love thing is rampant on this CD. It might take you deeper.:D

i had their album for ages and only listened to about 2 songs but i brought it out a few weeks ago and the more i listened the more i loved it - now i can't wait for the new album which is out in june (?)

^^^^ June??? About f*cking time! I'm just itching for a new release from Keane!!! I can't wait any longer!!! :hardhead:

Their new single doesn't sound like Keane at all....but in a good way. A different direction.

I've heard the new single and seen the video a few times now and I really like both. The video is amazing, has anyone else seen it, I'm not really sure if I can explain it! And I like how it's a new sound for them but it's not so far departed from their sound that they will alienate fans. It just sounds really fresh. Which is great because sometimes a band can come out with their next album after the first doing so well and it sounds exactly the same.

I looooove Keane, my favourite songs are "She Has No Time" and "Bedshaped"^_^

Where can I find this new song? I had no idea they were releasing another album... I'm so thrilled... yippee!^_^

Their songs are quite catchy.

I half expected to listen to their first album only a few times, but I was surprised that I still keep on listening to them one year after I bought their album.

The lead singer's voice is heavenly!
