Keira Knightley ... she says she has pimples, no cleavage and and a saggy bum / AFP

HER good looks and acting talents have made her one of Britain's most successful young film stars.

But as her latest movie premiered in London yesterday, Keira Knightley revealed her supposed natural beauty is largely thanks to the airbrush.

The 20-year-old actress, who stars as Elizabeth Bennet in the latest version of Pride and Prejudice, said she was an acne sufferer whose image in pictures was nothing like the real thing.

"Airbrushing is sort of nice because I always get acne, so it's all incredibly nice when they take it out digitally," she said in a radio interview. "I wish they could do that for me in my everyday life."

She admitted such digital wizardry did present an unattainable role model to her young fans. "If you've got an image like that, and you're presenting it as reality, then I'm definitely not too comfortable with that," she said.

It is impossible to attain that, so if that's the image you're presenting and saying this is what you should look like, then I don't think that's okay because nobody can look like that."

Knightley came to prominence three years ago in Bend It Like Beckham and went on to appear in Love Actually and Pirates of the Caribbean. Such was the success of Pirates she is now filming two sequels with co-stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.

Knightley arrived at the premiere of Pride and Prejudice, which is released in Australia on October 20, wearing a lilac Matthew Williamson emperor line dress.

Her normally short hair was replaced by a full head of auburn extensions she had put in while she films the Pirates sequels. "They are actually the same extensions from the first movie, which I find slightly odd, but at least they've been washed," she said.

i remember thinking that her skin looked messy when i saw the trailer for for Pride & Prejudice. after reading her views about her image.. i like her a little more.

I've heard so many people say they don't like her for different reasons but I think she's just fine:flower:

Hmm...that's cool. I like how open she is about it. She seems very down-to-earth for a celebrity.

This is why I like Keira - she's real. This reminds me of when GQ (or some magazine) made Kate Winslet "smaller" for their cover and she came out and said, "Hey! That's not what I really look like." So good for her:heart:

she's been saying how much she doesn't like her body for ages. I don't know why they keep printing it over and over.

I LOVE  keira. I have a picture of her on my wall, and she has THE MOST perfect skin ever, it's totally un-attainable. I really do sometimes just look at the picture and think 'arg, my skin is so crap!'.

It's so refreshing to just read about her saying that she is really airbrushed and un-life-like in her pictutures.

She seems so nice in her interviews too. Plus she's stunningly hot.

We need more stars like Keira and less like Paris! :flower::lol:

I love her. She's gorgeous, wears amazing clothes, has a natural talent for acting and seems just like the nicest, most down-to-earth person. If anyone has heard her on the POTC commentary, she's very funny and degrading to herself. She's great.

In pride and prejudice they had to retoutch her skin because you could still see her spots in the test version. She still looks gorgeous, a few spots or not

she looks very cute and very feminine which is rare these days :)
