Kenzo Menswear F/W 2023.24 Paris

I received a message from a friend of mine who attended the show saying : Kenzo, L’horreur!
Apparently the music and the presentation was annoying…
From what I’m seeing so far, it’s very particular…Even less accessible in terms of taste than the first two collections…

Nigo is connected to the Hip Hop community but I feel like this is only for Pharrell, his wife and Tyler the Creator. I’m rooting for him but I wonder how he did commercially so far.

Louise Trotter can take his place tbh.

It was a Beatles song played over and over again by a string Band.

It was a little grating to be honest.

I quite like it given what the brief is, which is to address the streetwear and contemporary market.

I would be very curious to know how sales are doing as well.

I realized that my least favorite thing about his show is the styling. The clothes are very basic and straight forward yet the styling make them feel very tricky.
The styling makes everything look like a wardrobe for a cartoon character. It's eccentric but feel very passé.
Especially with the hats, I don't know if French people even wear beret that way anymore.

I don't know about the other department, but I think his t-shirts sold very well, especially the one with the tiger tail in the back (it's cute, I kinda want it), every time I passed the Kenzo store I saw people bought one, and the store are always busy.

I think his clothes sold because the price is reasonable and the quality is great.

I'm team Louise so I'm manifesting this appointment to become a reality.

i’m surprised to see this collection get so much hate! must be in the minority who loves what he’s done so far for kenzo. i particularly like his trousers and how they fit on my asian build, i definitely see myself buying several from this collection

It's sorta a nice take on a preppy look. some styles remind me of what Stuart Vevers did at Coach. Not sure how its connected to the style of Nigo but maybe a different stylist would help do the trick.
