Kenzo Menswear F/W 2025.26 Paris

It is Japan season in Paris!
Not only Rei, Junya, Yohji are there but also Vuitton, Dior and Kenzo are drawing inspiration from Nippon culture.
I quite enjoyed the more simple looks from the beginning and the end. The paisley and the flower prints were not to my taste.
I was surprised to find in the floral prints (or embroideries?) what looks like an atom icon.
For such a collection, inspired by Japan, made by a Japanese, in a house with French-Japanese heritage, to hint to such a tragic moment in their history was something I wasn't expecting.
When the pictures are available I will zoom in, because I might be wrong.
A nice collection with nice music as well.

Somehow, Vuitton feels more like Nigo than Nigo himself. His first few seasons at Kenzo were amazing, but now he seems to have lost it. I can sense the pressure he's under from the board. Can't they just do a lookbook like Supreme? It feels cooler that way.

Paris always has been in love with Japan ! Remember Hanae Mori in Haute Couture ? She was the first I think.
And I love this collection, or at least the first thick bicolor jackets. The red/beige one is for me.

Couldn't get into this one. I have a deep seated resistance to spring color stories for fall/winter.
Also not into the whimsy elements that were incorporated.

I like his Kenzo because it feels very Japanese but I don’t think it’s working. It lacks that element of fun. Maybe he needs a Pharrell collab.
Instead of getting someone from Givenchy, they should have asked someone from Moschino or JWA to be design director.

Nigo really must be one of the most overrated «designers» out there.
Nobody cares about Kenzo and this soulless collection will not change it.
