I was looking at that dress yesterday and just.. love it. I don’t think it would’ve worked on anyone else and the volumes seem like something extracted from 2006 but.. it’s also similar in color and in the ‘quiet elegance’ approach to that Rochas dress she wore at Cannes and it just works for me.. it’s lovely.

Love that red dress too.. I love how happy and comfortable she’s been looking (as opposed to the last.. 10 years?).. it’s like she’s in a good spot personally and professionally, without the crazy amount of attention and scrutiny like when she was in her 20s but also doing pretty respectable projects and with a guy that seems good for her.

^^Yes. Very 2006...reminds me of the Fall 2006 Chanel Couture collection.

Her style is much more conservative these days...and that's totally fine by me. She's still very stylish, and still wearing things that are very her. I'm not mad at it at all.

I don't expect to see her in the same clothes she worse as a gamine, 20-something-year old...I mean, she wore some seriously spectacular things during that era...but....she's still wearing cool things, now.

I will always love her. She's just cool.

I was trying to figure out why I like it and maybe it's because the colour reminds me of her iconic Rochas look. It's an unusual look (an antidote to the crop tops, beige ensembles and sheer dresses that are currently popular) and quite an unexpected designer choice (Julie de Libran).

I really wonder who will dress her for the big night? Rodarte would be the sentimental choice but she hardly seems to wear their designs anymore. She has worn a lot of Erdem lately. Prada? Gucci? It could be any one of those.

^ and thank god for that! I hope she stays away from that the way one stays away from a contagious disease haha. I used to adore her style in the early 00s.. things took a dreadful turn when they started ‘guiding’ her.. then came the freakin’ espadrilles, the fugly white ‘rodarte’ tshirts, the 70s jeans.. she looked miserable and it was completely unflattering. Sometimes awful style just makes sense with one’s life but yeah, she seems in a better stage and is doing A list projects, she can do better!

A perennial fav, but most of her clothing choices on her current press/awards tour haven’t wowed me, until the blue dress. I think it’s a match made in heaven, everything about it works for Kirsten and her current style, and the hair and makeup were flawless, she looked really really lovely.

edit: i just wanted to add that, if you guys see me reposting already posted looks -- it's an accident! for some reason when people post ig posts here, they won't load on my computer anymore...

She looks stunning in that dress! I wish she’d won, but DeBose was extremely good as well.
