The reasons why Asians don't like to use Asians for covers, or editorials is that for the most part Asians don't conjure up images of high fashion to readers (esp. to other asians). They might look good in the clothes, but Vogue is much more about looking good, its about an attitude, a sophistication that Asian women can look to as examples and/or inspirations to be glam in their own cities. If you're in Korea, why would one buy a Vogue with, say, Hye Park on the cover, when there are probably 10,000 girls better looking than she is in that country? People want something different, something they've never seen before, and that's partially why girls like Stam and Gemma have been so hot the last couple of years. They are the uncoventional beauty.
But I def. love the cover, Jessica looks great as a blond, her hair looks real ratty and unhealthy, I just adore that... Those Koreans are definately on the cutting edge of fashion right now (and pickled cabbage...yummm..)
