Do I detect ' un petit embonpoint ' on Dame Karla ? :innocent:

LAGERFELD GALLERY from vogue.comWITH his first show since selling the company to Tommy Hilfiger Corp last December, Karl Lagerfeld was clearly setting himself up to go global. Despite having shown the latest Fendi collection last week in Milan and still working on the finishing touches for Chanel on Friday, the king of couture managed to give his own line a strong look all its own. Taking a more casual attitude for next winter, he paired skinny trousers with strong swinging coats, added floppy fur hats and matching boots to panelled denim dresses and jeans and gave trouser suits some curvy sexy appeal. It wasn't all set for day though, as the jersey and silk evening dresses in blush pink and navy slithered over the body, held on by a just a few fabric roses. And there was plenty to keep it well within in the confines of high-end luxe. Huge fur hoods were there to protect against Paris' arctic weather, while strips of dyed mink down the front of hooded tops or around the cuffs of a denim dress and bulging stoles had just enough classic bling. Surely the LED belts flashing with Lagerfeld's name are set to become one of the season's iconic accessories, too. "We want to run it as a very upscale couture business," said David Dyer, president and CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Corp, after the show. "It's a mutually beneficial association. Lagerfeld profits from the clout of a large industrial outfit that can finance his growth, while Hilfiger gains a designer with a worldwide reputation as it embarks on an acquisitions spree. We're looking to be a multi-brand, multi-channel company. I don't think you can get better than Karl Lagerfeld, so we think that we started with the crown jewel." (March 2 2005, PM)

I like a few of the dresses (particularly the one on Carmen) but I can easily do without the rest.

This is the menswear collection. This is much, much better. Although it's not the most original, it is still quite nice and there isn't anything in here that I wouldn't want to own.

As I said, this is quite nice, but it's nothing special. I really, really think
Karl could have done a much, much better job than this.

Actually, I KNOW he could have done a better job. But it's passable, and I like some of the suits.

This is much better than the Fendi disaster but still not that great...

Haha! I knew that had to be why this thread was bumped.

I like this collection soo much. I love this jacket thing piece, I had a green one like this from Gap, without the fur of course.

I absolutely love the length of the skirts and cut of the pants, the proportions are excellent as usual. He made jeans look chic again.
