Lakshmi Menon

You're welcome! I'd never say she's 27, she looks younger than 27 but still very mature.

Oh, wow, I love her even more now that I know that she is older and just hitting success.

Lakshmi is in New York and is seeing casting directors. Only a week until we see what she's going to do this season :buzz:

I don't believe this has been posted just yet. I'm really wondering about her Vogue Paris editorial - I'm guessing that it will be Inez and Vinoodh shooting but it could really be anyone.

So exciting!

:woot::heart: I can't wait

She's too expensive looking for New York if that makes sense.

Her look is much more European imo. She's best to stick with Givenchy, Hermes and all those top top houses.

;)

I hate to admit this but I agree that she does have a look that is more suited to the European fashion houses. I hate to admit this because I want her to do really well in New York, however I guess this is where she will have to show her versatility.

Awww, she looks so young and vulnerable there. What a sweet shot, thanks for scanning it :flower:.

I agree. I mean, I'll be totally happy to see her all over this season, but I think I like her as a Givenchy and Gaultier/ Hermes exclusive...it totally sets her above and apart from the rest of the modeling world.

Either way, I'm happy for her!

I agree. And I like this idea. I won't like to see her walking at CK or ODLR show. It won't work with Lakshmi, I think. She's perfect for Hermes, JPG or Givenchy. And for sure Lakshmi is perfect for Vogue Paris!

See while I think she does have one of the most expensive looks out there I feel as though there is work for a girl of her caliber in New York. Look at how great she looked at Stella last season. I know Stella shows in Paris but her collections always have a very New York feel, at least to me. I feel as though the cooler, younger designers will have a lot to offer Lakshmi. I can see her with her hair trussed up at Alexander Wang or in one of the dreamy gowns at Rodarte. Versatility is the mark of a model and based on what I've seen of Lakshmi she possesses a great deal of versatility. Paris should not be the sole place wherein that is recognized.

I do feel as though she'll have selective seasons in every city. As long as her agents are smart were going to see her at shows chosen for a reason. I don't feel as though she'll be everywhere but I do think her presence will be felt in each of the fashion week cities.

Except maybe London. I mean London is cool - loads of fresh talent - but sometimes girls just skip it.

I believe the Paris Vogue with Lakshmi is going to be shot by Mario Testino

nymag picked her as one of their top ten new models to watch:

Lakshmi Menon (Ford)
Even after replacing Daria Werbowy as the face of Hermès this spring, Menon failed to take off in New York last season. But in Europe, she opened Givenchy’s fall couture show in July. Ricardo Tisci then selected her to star in Givenchy’s fall ad campaign. *please see tFS guidelines*
Prediction: Vera Wang and Peter Som
