large turtleneck-style collars

forgive me if there is a thread already, but i looked and couldn't find one..

i've been enamoured of a style that i've noticed year after year, and it's one of high/big collars like turtlenecks and wraps. it's not a turtle necessarily, but similar in style. it's usually on coats, sometimes sweaters and shirts. it's not tight or fitted necessarily either, but often loose. not like a cowel, but not quite as tight as a turtle. they often button, or zip, or snap, or buckle closed.

i've been looking and can't find any pictures, but if i do i'll start posting. i saw a lot on runways a few years back, so if any of you can come up with anything, i'd be grateful! i'm not looking for any specific designer, just some images for my collection.

not quite a cowl, because those are too floppy. i love those, but those aren't what i'm talking about specifically here. the one that you posted, diorling, is really similar, almost exact...it's called mao? i'm not sure what a chimney collar is but if anyone could find pixxx of that i could tell you. i'm not even sure it's any one specific one, but i'd know it if i saw it, i think...

thanks..i thought i searched but coudn't find anything..

here are 2 from that thread that are very similar to what i'm talking about.


they're more turtleneck-y in that they come up the shoulder and frame the face..more so than a collar that is open at the neck.

haha is it really as simple as that! i thought about funnel necks, but wasn't quite sure...then i thought about funnel cake, and lost my train of thought...

i've been looking through old threads and finding some examples..thanks, softgrey and everyone! if you can find any more examples feel free to post them!
