DNA: Meet Larissa, or better known by friends as Larry. While working on her art portfolio for a prestigious art university in Berlin, a scout spotted this 5'10" body with flawless skin and piercing blue eyes, and asked her fly to Paris. She declined for 3 months, until finally, she went and was scooped up by an agency on the first day. The design-freak who never leaves her house without a sketchbook has previously pickedup catwalk experiences in London, Milan, and Paris, but never made her mark in New York -- until now.
Q&A with Larissa:
Does music play a role in your life?
Yes, definitely.
What influences you?
The everyday life, on the streets, new impressions, new cities, new people. and my background, my home - I know where my roots are and where I am coming from, I carry it with me.
B&W or color?
For clothes..B&W... My life - colorful, please.
What book would you recommend someone to read?
Someone's own notes or diary, from few months/years ago. look, how much (you) changed. And how the important things are still the same. Time has a great way of showing what really matters.
What was your first experience traveling abroad?
As mostly, A journey into the unknown.
Your defining feature, physical and/or character?
Not trying to take everything too serious especially in that business. Life is hard enough. So you should have fun and enjoy what you're doing..otherwise: where's the point then? Though i am really focused and hard-working. Because I love to work.
Last fact you thought was amazing to know?
Almost Christmas again
What is your favorite water?
Saltwater. From the sea. I love the ocean.
Whom do you relate to more, your mom or dad?
I'm a Mama girl, she's the most fantastic women. But I do relate to both the same. Just in different ways. I got really close with my dad since I moved out and we started writing emails. It may sound wired, but now I know for sure, he's wonderful!
What age would you go back to and experience for a day?
Age from 4-6. when you're old enough to know what you are doing but young enough to not worry about every little thing. We played outside the whole day and made up stories in our unselfconscious minds. I love the nature and the feeling of freedom.
Any not-so-secret secret you're willing to share?
It depends on the person not on their sex who you fall in love with.
Favorite time of the day?
I like how different every morning feels depending on the place you are. everything is fresh and waking up,it's a new day and you decide how you start it. Also the sunset. I love the evening light. everything calms down..or just begins. I love the little tension that's out there.
Fashion film or fashion editorial?
Let's do both!
Makeup or natural?
Natural make-up.
3 things you still want to experience in life?
- I want to see as much as possible of this world. All cultures, landscapes, I wanna explore the not so obvious things and see what's out there!
- That one day when I have my own place I want to be able to call it "home" and feel it that way.
- Just want to be happy with what i'm doing and not planning to much - because then something else might come up, but you don't (want to) see it because you're too focused on your so-called plan and then get disappointed if it doesn't work out.
What are you having (or had) for dinner tonight?
Nothing yet, I wanna cook for a friend, we go to the food shop then, let's see what happens.
Last thing that made u smile?
Walking through the East Village by night. There's a great energy around. And a message from my friends in Germany…they are so supportive!
