Lea Seydoux

(she wore LV more than twice actually, and always for red carpets or premieres)

Clearly she had some kind of unofficial contract for Prada besides being the face of the Candy perfume. Vogue called her a Prada ambassador. She attended Miu Miu shows in Paris almost every season, and barely attends any other fashion show. Also, even though she indeed wears many designers she was always in either Miu Miu or Prada for her most important appearances (big city premieres and award shows).

When she wore Vuitton it was still under Marc Jacobs. A pink dress at the Venice film festival from their resort 2011 collection; A gown from the fall 2010 collection for the Inglorious Basterds premiere in Cannes; And a gorgeous blue custom-made gown at the Cannes premiere of Grand Central that was inspired by one of Marc's final collections, that is fall 2013 where she sat front-row. She always looked good in Marc Jacobs's deisgns, for sure, but never wore anything by Ghesquière.

I completely agree that Camille is a fantastic stylist. I love what she's done with Adele Exarchopoulos LV looks. More than her great pairing with Prada, it's the great collaboration with her sister that made Léa's style one of the very best among actresses. Yet I still think that Nicolas universe at Vuitton doesn't suit Léa's pin-up, slightly old-hollywood glamour style.

I'm disappointed because not only Prada gave her prime samples from the collections and designed stunning custom pieces for her. But she could also wear other designers. LV, and French fashion houses in general, seem to be very restrictive.

I'm so sad it's over with Prada and Miu Miu, she was made for them.
But I'm also really curious to see how it's going to turn...

I'm so sad about her LV contract :(
Her Prada and Miu Miu gowns were one of my favourite and she always looked sensational.

Prada has never asked her to sign a contract aside for their 'Candy' perfumes so I'm not surprised at all about the choice.

Such fragance deals with celebrities usually do include stipulations about red carpet/ fashion show appearances. I'm sure she had an agreement with Prada/Miu Miu on how many times she would appear dressed in either and on how many times she would appear front row. All these things are entirely coordinated nowadays.

So I think Louis Vuitton was waiting for this contract to end to snap her up. It really is too bad, since Ghesquiere's collections are rather terrible. I guess it's all about the money LV offered anyway.

I'm really disappointed as well. Prada/Miu Miu suited her so well and made her look so flawless and glamorous.

LV's clothes are, most of the times, too messy and complicated which doesn't suit her classy looks at all. She needs some refined and toned-down looks and a more basic looking woman like Charlotte Gainsbourg is perfect for LV.

Tragic news. When I think of Prada, I think of Léa and vice versa. They fit, and complimented, each other so well. Her Prada (and Miu Miu) looks were the best things I've seen on the red carpet in recent years. As much of a Ghesquière fanboy I am, his collections for LV are ugly and unflattering. I don't think this will turn out good.

I wonder if, because of this Vuitton deal, she will wear Prada/Miu Miu again.
In french fashion, Chanel is the only house that has done things well. It's quite weird that Lea didn't have a RTW or a Handbag campaign, considering her big exposure this past year.

One thing that i like about a designer/celebrity collaboration is to see the celeb wearing the designer's clothes/accessories IRL. Maybe working with Vuitton will have an impact on her personal style.

Perhaps we'll see her with a lot of LV bags etc. soon :flower: Vuitton's accessories are great, but its collections under Ghesquiere have been hideous (his designs were far better suited to Balenciaga, but most things he's done for Vuitton have been a let down)

Anyone know If she has any events coming up? Looking forward to see how this LV thing will work out.

"According to WWD Léa has been chosen to be the new face of Louis Vuitton, joining ambassadors Alicia Vikander, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Connelly and Doona Bae. Quoting the online fashion magazine “her first official duty is to accompany Nicolas Ghesquière, Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections, to the UNICEF Ball in Los Angeles on Jan. 12 wearing an outfit custom-made for her”. This looks like a dress from Penny Dreadful, a mix between Givenchy, Valentino and a mistress that wants to be chic. Hair and makeup are beautiful tho.

It's a bit too dominatrix for my taste. I envision Lea in lighter and more ethereal clothes in terms of color and style and I'm not sure she pulls this off.

I don't think it's hideous but I do think it's a little too costume-y.
