Enchanted Story–Stars of the French live action version of “Beauty and the Beast” Lea Seadoux and Vincent Cassel pose together in the December 2013 issue of L’Express Styles. The magazine enlisted Luciana Val and Franco Musso to photograph the pair in an enchanted series of images complete with a forest set design by Sophie Glasser. The older sister of Léa Seydoux is making a career for herself dressing the red carpet.

Many women would balk at the idea of living in the shadow of a sibling—especially a younger one. But Camille Seydoux, who is the older sister of the French actress Léa Seydoux, is making a career out of it, working as Léa’s stylist. Early on, Camille had her own big screen ambitions, but the 31-year-old decided that life in the public eye was not for her. “I thought if I was an actress, I had to be a celebrity,” Camille says. “And I wanted to stay anonymous.” After spending much of her 20s focused on raising her two children, Camille got involved in her sister’s wardrobe three years ago, when Léa was stuck in Vancouver shooting Mission: Impossible–Ghost Protocol and had nothing to wear to the César awards. Camille—who honed her eye watching her stepmother, the model Farida Khelfa, walk in Azzedine Alaïa and Jean Paul Gaultier shows—found a slinky Elie Saab dress. After she procured a glamorous red Prada gown for Léa’s appearance at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2012, styling offers began to pour in. She was in charge of the French-Argentine actress Bérénice Bejo’s ensembles for the Cannes Film Festival in 2012; now outfits Adèle Exarchopoulos, Léa’s costar in the 2013 film Blue Is the Warmest Color; and has been doing editorial work for magazines like L’Officiel and Malibu. Léa, of course, remains her most loyal client. “Sometimes she’ll say, ‘Are you sure about this dress?’ ” says Camille, whose signature style blends nonchalant French cool with American glamour. “I say, ‘I’m your sister, trust me!’ I don’t do that with the other girls. But with Léa, I can say, ‘You need to wear it.’ ”
