leggings

I read in ELLE that leggins should end mid-calf. Is that correct? the ones i bought end almost at ankle length. also most of the above snaps are almost ankle lenght, as were the models in most designer shows....
I also saw one model (who ELLE said 'got it right') folding her leggings up to finish almost at knee lenghth. is that ok or do we just chop off the extra length?
Help!

leggings that end mid calf are 'capri leggings'...
leggings that come to the ankle are also fine and may even appear more 'grown up' and polished...

one thing i HAVE to say...
leggings are LAYERING items...
they are NOT PANTS...
and you should NEVER go out of the house ---EVER----
in a pair of leggings without something covering your BUTT!!!..

ie- a long sweater, a little dress, a long shirt, a mini skirt, etc...
PLEASE!!!...do the world a favour!!!...

thank you...
*on behalf of those of us who have to look at your pant-less butts...*cringe*...

^^ in reply to the ankle or knee length debate .. i think if your legs are any bigger then kate moss' you should avoid the capri length one slike the plague.. they are so unflattering ... thats why i wear ankle length ones .. more flattering and warmer :)

i wear ankle length coz thats the length they came in. Dont even get mid-calf length ones here anymore. anyways

what goes with a baby doll frock that comes till mid thigh - do we wear tights with pumps, or are leggings with flats ok too?
