Dont know if anyone has posted about this- its new to me.
Just took an intellifit test from the Levi store on Broadway (soho).

What it is- it's this machine you stand in for like a minute- it scans your body and out comes a list of the styles they carry and your appropriate size.

In a nut shell it takes out the whole trying on 50 jeans - not sure what size you - debacle.

Its fast, fun and accurate.
( Im an overall size 4- size 3 in the super boot cut style:woot: )

Has anyone else tried it?

Do they do custom-made jeans too? I remember something on TV a while back when they scanned people and they got custom-fitted jeans. I think that was Levi's too.

I'm pretty sure the San Francisco main Levi's store in Union Square has a customizations section. I wonder how much a custom pair of Levi's costs...

Also, I heard there was a Levi's "one-off" store in NYC...could someone please explain to me the concept of this store and where exactly it is located? Thanks.

that is AWESOME... wonder how it works??? that is so cool...

Unfortunatly , I did not try on any of the styles.
I went in to see if they had jeans in my length in stock
(34-36' length - they had nothing that length for women).
I came across this machine, and was gobsmacked at this star trek seeming contraption, and was curious on what it was.

i had to research the custome levis thing for a priject...it turns out that it's not as cool as it sounds...
it's not that you would have a pair of jns made to your measurements...but you can have a pair 'customised' to your specifications...ie-add lace...add writing...maybe choose the finish...etcl...like that...not so impressive...

the other levis store you are thinking of is called selvedge and is on mulberry street just below prince st...
they do customisations there too..and you can get vintage levis that they have sewed patches on or screen-printed or cut up and re-sewn..stuff like that...some of that stuff is pretty cool... B)
all pretty much one-of-a-kind...

:woot: Thanks a lot for the info! Now I really wanna check that store out...sounds like paradise.

The Levis customization is a disappointing -- iron ons, buttons, distressing, and lace are the rule, but they have put some long term effort into these custom fit Star Trek contraptions. When the Levis store opened in San Francisco in... 2000? they were still selling a line of jeans called Original Spin, ie. super customized jeans for $100, shipped to you in a few weeks. Not only did they have the scanning booths, they had a shrink to fit hot tub. XD

I hope they're phasing that tub back in... ;p
