So King's College in Cambridge is not the actual Cambridge university right?

I heard from a friend of hers at Cam that she was going to Trinity Hall but maybe she is going to be a Kingswoman? Hye Park, Cambridge works under the collegiate system like Oxford and Durham. About 30 colleges make up the University of Cambridge and Kings is one of them. The colleges are essentially autonomous and choose to stay with the University for... well, the name. The university does however set standard exams, lectures for each subject happen for students of all colleges and you can have supervisions with professors anywhere, depending on who is available and who specialises in your subject.
