Yeah, I'm always glad to see well-known people using their status to support different causes, rather than promoting themselves.

Lily Cole was one of 100 celebrities photographed by Amnesty International for its 45th birthday Protect Human exhibition to highlight the fact the importance, no matter where or who you are, of standing up for human rights. See all the photos yourself, from tomorrow, at The Hospital, 24 Endell Street, Covent Garden. Admission is free. Call 020 7170 9100 for enquiries.
Go Lily

gosh it's been four weeks since i said that and finally i've gotten round to scanning it!!fleur137 said:i have a local Syd mag on her when she was here from my friend. will scan later when have time. oh and any scanning tips?? i've never scanned a mag in my life........
now i realise how scanning is really not that easy...and it didn't help that my friend spilled her lunch over the mag - the cover's iffy (it was the best that i could get it to). it also didn't help that the mag was too big for my scanner and i had no idea how to make it to a smaller size when scanning or whatever
, so a little bit of the last column of the interview has been cut off. it's also kinda out-of-date because Lily did it when she was in Aus and that's been a while so yeah.

2006-06-01 10:41:29 -
English supermodel LILY COLE has come under fire for supporting human rights charity Amnesty International, after starring in advertisements for controversial diamond firm De Beers.
The 18-year-old redhead has joined Amnesty's new 'Protest The Human' campaign and appears in ads holding a placard reading, 'Stop Corporate Abuse'.
Fellow human rights charity Survival are stunned by Cole's latest project due to her De Beers connection, because they claim the jewellers have been evicting Botswana bushmen to make way for diamond mines in the African nation.
Survival director STEPHEN CORRY says, "It's a little bit hypocritical of Lily to be getting cosy with Amnesty whilst she's been endorsing De Beers."
that's what i thought too. Wasn't Survival the group that publicly suggested Lily to stop working for de Beers?boho_babe said:Thats rubbish though, because Lily has refused to work with de Beers again.
fleur137, lovely scans!
stupid ppl. one would think that before you accuse someone of something, you would get the facts right first....lokert said:yeah these people are just being ridiculous, they're attacking her because she joined a "rival" human-right association®, i also think lily should probably just stick to modeling right now, and keep politics for in a couple a years, she's just 18, she will be manipulated very easily.

lol i tried my best to get them right. hope they're ok for everyone!fashion_victim said:I haven't been to this thread in a long long time! Thanks everyone for the news and the pics!fleur137, lovely scans!
