Just my .02 on the "matter of the day": as long as I'm concerned, I totally Lily whatever she does
As for the ed, imho it isn't as raunchy as somebody puts it...and besides I agree with those saying that with Lily's angelic face, she could never look really sleazy...
And as for the different emotions provoked by a nude from Vogue rather than one from Arena, I must confess that as a straight man I could find both of them (as well as none of them, depending on the single pic, the style, the taste, the atmosphere, etc.) "sexy".

And oh yeah, does anyone else think the controversy stems from her face? She has such an odd face that doesn't meld with her body. I expect her to be some tiny little wood-dwelling creature with a disproportionately large head. So I think that fact that she is a young woman with a great body just throws people off and boggles their minds

No, it is in the manner of which the photograph is taken, and what type of emotions the photographer wants to person who is viewing the photograph to evoke. The Calvin ads may be sexual or whatever, but they are tasteful and sensual. Where as Arena is for men, in order to have sex appeal. I have nothing against nudity, but when it is used to evoke sexual emotions rather than the actual form of the body is totally different.

yeah I basically agree with this. I mean the thing is, I don't even find this sort of display all that sexy b/c it seems to be trying too hard and lacks subtlety - in order to evoke a certain reaction from a certain audience as you suggest. I find hints of flesh, a bit of lushness, etc far more appealing to look at and far sexier in their ability to tantalize without giving away too much. I mean leave something to the imagination please

Actually I looked over what I wrote, and I realize it sort of suggests that I'm anti-nudity, which I'm not actually. But I still think this editorial would have been better if she weren't trying so hard to be what society deems to be physically "sexy" *sigh*

Lily does have a good body though! Definitely not disputing that. And I've always liked her print work even though I'm not sure I've ever posted in this thread before If this is my first post, sorry it's a bit negative. I actually do like Lily

have just got the new UK Vogue in front of me and it is an ONLY GIRL 12 page spread shot by Nick Knight. She looks amazing especially in the profile shots - never realised that she had a fab profile

here is the prime example of why people should stop freaking about the arena article.... we complain and complain and complain... then we open the next page to find her right back in the high fashion mix. i don't think that the arena photos were trashy... quite beautiful, in my opinion.

if you can call these photos trashy and accuse lily of being trashy after posing for the magazine, then every other high fashion model who's done victoria's secret can be thrown right into that category as they walk down the runway with their T & A hanging out. are any of you willing to call raquel zimmerman, natasha poly, julia stegner, caroline trentini, heather marks, jessica stam etc. trashy for doing the show?

Yes, that's true. I don't think Lily is trashy at all - besides she's done so much beautiful work that one arena editorial isn't going to negate all that
