Lisa Cant

That's ok. Lisa C fans help each other out ;). So you're welcome, everyone ^_^.

She is the "model of the month" on www.fashionmodeldirectory.com

From her debut on the runways of New York for Betsey Johnson until now, it has been a whirlwind for Lisa Cant from Calgary's Images Models.
Her doll-like looks and charming smile have landed her ads for Juicy Couture, A-k-r-i-s, Carolina Herrera, Dolce and Gabbana as well as two consecutive covers of Italian vogue and a numerous amount of fashion magazine covers. We had the pleasure to interview this charming Canadian eye-catcher for our model of the month in August....

How did you get started in the modeling business?
Lisa: When I was 14 years old, another model approached me in an Ikea store, and gave me Pat at Images Models card.

Did you ever think you'd be doing this?
Lisa: No, I never considered it, because I was so shy growing up.

What do you like most about modeling? What do you like least?
Lisa: I like the traveling most, because I get to see so many different parts of the world. However it's also sometimes the part I like least, because sometimes I'll be away from my home for many weeks, and it gets tiring.

Have you encountered any surprises along the way?
Lisa: Whenever photos from a job come out, it's a surprise, because I never know how they're going to look in the end. Sometimes it's completely different from the day I shot it.

Ever get tempted to get pulled into the party scene?
Lisa: I only ever go to parties when I have the day off the next day. Every now and then I think it's ok.

Have you developed any new interests since you started modeling?
Lisa: I started surfing a few years ago, and even though I'm awful at it, I have fun.

What are your favourite things to do in your free time?
Lisa: I like to read fiction books, and relax at home.

Out of all the places your career has taken you, where was the most memorable?
Lisa: There's been so many memorable trips... Japan, Romania, Greece, Capetown...

Do you have a mentor? Who? What is it about them that affects you? Why?
Lisa: Any successful woman is my mentor, because I feel women are just now being judged fairly against men in business.

Where do you see yourself in ten years? What could be your next career?
Lisa: I have no idea what my next career will be.. Hopefully something I enjoy.

What are your best beauty secrets? How do you stay in shape?
Lisa: I always moisturize my skin, because it tends to get very dry. I'm not very fanatic in terms of dieting or exercise, just everything in moderation.

What would you want people to know about you?
Lisa: That I enjoy my career and life.

Any advice for new models? What advice would you give other models starting out?
Lisa: It took me a while before I started being successful... stick it out!

Favourite all-time model:
Lisa: Christy Turlington

Favourite kind of food:
Lisa: Italian

Favourite kind of music:
Lisa: Pop.

Favourite quote:
Lisa: Let it Be.

I'd like to meet:
Lisa: Bill Clinton.

If I were trapped on an island I'd take:
Lisa: Many many many books.

That's a nice interview of Lisa. I dug around the internet for more editorials I can find of her, and her Vogue Germany Dec 2007 brought back memories. It was one of the first editorials I ever saved and at the time didn't know it was the JC girl.

I love how Lisa has been able to stay in the game for so long, so low key, and still get casted for runway and great ad campaigns. She makes it look effortless!

Yay! Thanks for the top quality scans, jssy4eva :flower:. The surfboard one is my favourite next to Lisa with the zebra.

I love the 3rd one. The first one is so pretty too. She looked like Leighton Meester that I had to do look twice.

That's a gorgeous showcard of her. Everyone is having their best pictures being put forward, I love it.

yahhH!! is she doing show season this time? lisa cant is soooo gorgeous in eds with her gigantic eyes. kinda liks masha

^^ Yeah, she almost always does some runway each season. It's so great to be a fan of hers because she's so consistent! Trump agency must be thankful each and every day that they have her on their board and no other agency has managed to nab her.

Lisa has a really nice editorial in the October 2008 issue of Elle Canada!!:woot:

It is shot by Malina Corpadean.
