If you listened to us, bravo. If not, here’s a way to catch up. The 22-year-old just landed today’s cover of WWD after racking up an impressive 49 runway walks for the Fall 2010 season, proving that her presence is one we should gladly become used to in the fashion world.
As a testament to the beauty she exudes, Karl Lagerfeld spoke of his love for Liu, saying, “From this part of the world, there are not so many girls for the moment. Of the new generation, she is the best and may become a great star.” But that’s not the only fashion great who’s fallen for her look. Jean Paul Gaultier is crushing as well and admitted, “Another thing that I love about her is that she exudes confidence but is fragile at the same time. I love girls who are strong and different, and Liu Wen is both.”
Strong she may be, but Modelinia adores her warm and excited personality, as she embraces the experience to the fullest. When we met her during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, her excitement was truly contagious. “If I have a job, I’m very excited,” she said of modeling. “I never think about being tired. I love shooting and I love fashion week. Every day I wake up early; go, go, go; have hair and makeup, and go to the next show. I love it.”
