Estée Lauder Signs Liu Wen and Constance Jablonksi as The Brand’s Newest Faces
Estée Lauder’s just announced their newest brand ambassadors, Liu Wen and Constance Jablonski.

They’re both firsts—Liu’s the first Chinese model to be signed to the luxury beauty brand (and she was the first Asian model to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway, too). Meanwhile, Constance is the first French girl to land a Lauder campaign.

They round out the brand’s already perfect roster of spokesmodels including Hilary Rhoda, Carolyn Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley and Gwyneth Paltrow, and their campaigns will debut this June.

Aerin Lauder said, “Estée Lauder has always searched for global beauties that define a generation. Constance and Liu Wen are the beauties of our time. Both models have quickly captured the attention of the fashion and beauty world.”

We’re not sure what exactly the two will endorse, but Liu’s porcelain complexion makes her the perfect skin care advocate, while Constance would be great for hair or makeup.

I'm still thrilled about Liu Wen getting that beauty contract.:woot:
And does that mean she has to do fewer runway shows in the future? Because I think Hilary Rhoda disappeared from runway after she signed with Estee Lauder.

Anyway, can't wait to see her beauty ad! This is really breaking news!

Liu Wen also opened and closed a special Calvin Klein runway show in Shanghai today (Held to celebrate the brand's store opening there)!

wow so MDC updated their list? It's going to be spectacular when she actually gets into the top 10! Go Asian models! Givenchy, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

I translated her blog post about Estee Lauder :flower:

I don’t think I can do proper justice to the beautiful language she used (There is just something about Chinese that cannot be duplicated), but here goes:

Love

After a long period of waiting, the dust has finally settled. I have never been in love, but I think my collaboration with Estee Lauder would be similar to such a precious connection. At first it was a rendezvous that had to be kept secret, then one where we could briefly grasp hands...but now I can finally announce to the world that I am in a beautiful relationship!

Los Angeles seems to be a fateful place for me. Even though the trip from NYC is quite a long plane ride, even crossing multiple timezones, some of the most memorable parts of my life have now occurred there. Whether it was Estee Lauder or CK, so many of those shoots took place in L.A. My life’s goal has always been simple – initially I only wished to walk a few shows, then model for some decent jobs, then perhaps trek to the catwalks of the four international fashion capitals or become a top model on rankings. These hopes were always kept silent within me, but they always drove me to diligent pursuit. Beyond my greatest expectations, step-by-step each wish came true. But after accomplishing everything else, I finally had an even greater, more impossible goal – to represent a brand on a global standpoint. Estee Lauder was definitely one of the few names I privately considered.

A few months ago, the plan for fulfilling this latest wish began to manifest, but my heart remained quite unsettled, as if I was young again and fearing that an unexpected rainstorm would negatively affect a beautiful Spring field trip for school. Whenever I was asked to think about any aspect of the situation, I became somewhat nervous, but still anticipatory.

But now, all the fears have been alleviated. My new “love” has gone public, and I can finally openly declare my own feelings. We can finally go out on the town hand-in-hand!

My greatest gratitude goes out to my New York agency and everyone there who have given their full effort to push me to great heights. I also want to thank you all my family, friends, and supporters all over the world. But alas, this is anything but an “awards acceptance speech” – it’s simply a joyous declaration from a young woman who cannot contain her excitement any longer.

Beautiful and eloquent!

awww. Thanks for sharing Faith! :) I was a bit shocked at first when someone said the campaign was a false alarm but now it's really really confirmed and I'm glad for Liu's success. :)

thanks for translating from her blog. that was a very heartfelt message and seemed very sincere. Congrats to Liu, she is soo deserving of this contract!

Someone has already confirmed Ming Xi is the Asian girl who got Givenchy. Anyway, still happy for Liu Wen getting Estee Lauder contract!

And Faith, thanks for translating her blog into English and sharing her happiness with more people at tFS. I really appreciate it.:flower:

Chinese model Liu Wen just became the first Asian face of cosmetics giant Estée Lauder. French model Constance Jablonski also signed with the brand. A cosmetics contract is the Holy Grail of modeling — the single highly lucrative booking that all models strive for after years of toiling away on low-paying runway and editorial jobs. As two of fashion's most desirable faces of the moment, they couldn't have been hired by Estée Lauder at a better time.

Liu Wen debuted on the fall 2008 runways and quickly became a runway must-have, walking for Chanel, Hermès, and Kenzo. The 22-year-old was the first Asian model to walk for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last year.

Meanwhile, Constance Jablonski is no stranger to the pages of Vogue. Hailing from Lille, France, the 20-year-old is an editorial darling at French, Italian, Japanese, and British Vogue. Jablonski is also the current face of ck by Calvin Klein, alongside, coincidentally, Wen. They also shared the March 2010 cover of Chinese Vogue. Maybe Estée Lauder will pair these two gorgeous faces together too.

Estee Lauder is about to add some spice to its stable of girl-next-door-looking beauties..

The cosmetic giant just announced that it has signed two of fashion's leading runway models -- France's Constance Jablonski and China's Liu Wen -- which makes the duo the first models Estée Lauder has signed from either country. Cover faces for the beauty brand have traditionally hailed from the U.S., U.K. and Eastern European nations like Poland and the Czech Republic.

We wonder if new creative makeup director Tom Pecheux -- who is a fixture backstage during fashion week -- is encouraging Lauder to expand its presence in the world of high fashion?

"Estée Lauder has always searched for global beauties that define a generation. Constance and Liu Wen are the beauties of our time. Both models have quickly captured the attention of the fashion and beauty world," said Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President and Creative Director of Estée Lauder.

Jablonski is originally from Lille, France, and walked the runways for a staggering 62 shows in New York, Milan and Paris during the Fall and Winter 2010 fashion season. The icy blonde is also a favorite of the editorial fashion world, with recent appearances on the cover of Chinese Vogue and in American, British, French and Italian issues of Vogue.

Meanwhile, Wen was born in Beijing, China, and started her career on the pages of Chinese Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. And her heels are well-worn from a season of runway prancing too; she worked a total of 49 shows for the Fall and Winter 2010 fashion season, which included names like Derek Lam -- which Estee Lauder sponsored -- along with Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, Balenciaga and Michael Kors.

Look for the fresh new faces to start making ad appearances in June. We just hope that by then, the girls have kicked off those heels and are finally putting their feet up.

Wow Liu is number 14 on mdc now? I really hope she can get even higher, no asian model has been higher than 14 since Ling Tan :)

The New Faces of Beauty

Catwalk queens Liu Wen and Constance Jablonski join cosmetics giant Estee Lauder’s roster of elegant faces. With their pristine looks and natural refinement, both models are perfect representatives of 21st century beauty, in the words of Estee Senior Vice President Aerin Lauder, “Constance and Liu Wen are the beauties of our time. Both models have quickly captured the attention of the fashion and beauty world.” What makes these appointments special is that this marks the first time a Chinese or French model has ever landed an Estee contract, the addition of new faces that speak to the diverse nature of beauty is a major step in the right direction. It is especially gratifying to see an Asian model in a prominent beauty campaign; we can’t wait to see the Craig McDean helmed images when it debuts in June.
