Melissa Viviane Jefferson (born April 27, 1988), known professionally as Lizzo, is an American rapper, singer, actor, flutist, and songwriter. She is a founding member of indie hip hop groups The Chalice, Grrrl Prty, The Clerb, Ellypseas, and Absynthe. Her debut album, Lizzobangers, was released in 2013. In 2015, she released her second album, Big Grrrl Small World. After the release of Big Grrrl Small World, she worked with Ricky Reed, who helped her to improve her voice and later signed her to Atlantic Records. Soon after, she released the 2016 major-label EP Coconut Oil. On April 19, 2019, she released Cuz I Love You, her third studio album, for which she will embark on an international tour.

That Playboy edit is hysterical! Totally looks like cheap 80s smut, and I she's the only one out there who'd be okay with such a concept.

I am living for "Tempo" with Missy, and also "Soulmate." "Soulmate" makes me wanna scream it out loud at top of my lungs, with zero effs given to how annoying I'd sound to anybody within a 30 feet radius.

This has been my HIIT beat ever since Lizzo released the album.
But as much as I'm obsessed with it, and the entire album, I wish I could unsee the video. It's Missy! She's just not her usual polarising self anymore, stealing all the limelight. Here she just looks like the plus one, which is not a phrase I associate with her. Even when Tweet danced around with a bunch of naked girls in an ice castle and Missy only got mere seconds of screentime in the video, it was still about the latter. If ever someone deserved to be called 'kween', it's her.

How can Missy steal the limelight in this video? I mean, it's all big girls, half-nekkid, and wearing (intentionally) stupid outfits. And, Missy is older, and holds an Honorary Doctorate title from a reputable school for music now, so she's probably like "Y'all can shine here. Just be sure to make me jump out from beneath the hood when you do the editing."

What's up w/ Missy appearing in music videos with throngs of half-naked women dancing around her? .....

Can’t wait for Lizzo’s performance, she’s one of my most anticipated. I hope she takes home Best New Artist... deserves it more than all the other nominees combined (Rosalia and Billie aren’t bad... but a little too fake artsy for my taste. They both have extremely strong fanbases, however, and it’s a fan voted award.)
