Louis Vuitton Menswear S/S 2024 : Rihanna by Keizō Kitajima

I can't tell if he is supposed to be modelling or if Rihanna is supposed to, but this one is not working. Virgil may not have been a good designer but he had a clear vision and some of his campaigns were quite good.

I am so, so, soooo tired of seeing this women's stomach as if she's the first to ever be pregnant. Touch grass riri!

She's enjoying her pregnancy and what's wrong with showing it off? Also, she's not doing anything many others haven't, she is just highly visible and one of the most famous women in the world soooo maybe you are just tired of seeing her period? You're giving, cover up your body vibes.

I'm torn on this. She looks beautiful of course but this is almost too easy for Pharrell using a pregnant Rihanna.

I find it quite interesting that Pharrell as his own doesn’t feel like he is enough for his Vuitton. Like he needs to add another starpower to validate his vision.
The first glimpse we have of his work is a woman, one of the most famous and overexposed in the world, wearing his designs and totally overshadowing whatever they are trying to sell.

Those bags will acquire an « iconic status » even before being shown on the runway just because of the association with Rihanna. So we have pre-orders already in brains of future customers.

I guess any critical opinion of his work would be difficult to express. Even more difficult than Celine by Hedi Slimane in womenswear.

Interesting. That rainbow of colors for Keepall seems fun though.

Why is an over-exposed pregnant woman, fronting a Menswear campaign??

Why are these campaigns coming out almost a year in advance? Maybe it's me that has lost the plot but it's getting ridiculous.

Also, this looks like it's Mert & Marcus, especially since both of these artists (and LV) have had a long history with them. But it's incredibly generic all around.

The photo of Pharrell in front of the photo is shot by Marvin Leuvrey.

Pharrell is also credited as the photographer in this post, is it possible he shot the main photo himself?

It's ridiculous at this point that brands don't share the credits behind their own campaigns. Hmm. Would have loved Rihanna by Meisel, she's one of the celebs I want to see more behind his lends, and it's such a bommer that this was taken by a photographer I never knew exist.

Well excuse me lol. But I guess that's what HF has come to these days; interchangeable designers, photogs, directors, etc. An amalgamation of boredom.

You get Rihanna to front your first campaign as CD and this is what you give us?
Being a Rihanna Fan I’m disappointed in this.. Could’ve done more for sure!!
