According to another magazine this is a campaign, but Vogue posted it with the lookbooks. In that case the thread should be moved to the collections I guess?

The cover artwork is well executed, and if I were in charge, I would have had them illustrate the clothes/models, too, to complete the effect.

Either way, though, I really think Nicolas is so annoying these days. We get it, dude...WE REALLY GET IT...you love the 80’s and Sci-Fi. And he continues to beat those references to death in the most surface level and obnoxious ways. Everything he does now is clunky and ugly.

For me it is a bit stepping into Gucci territory in terms of artistic direction, literally a mix of their Alien ad + recent magazine cover thing.

It’s a lookbook, not a campaign... Spring Summer is not even fully arrived in the stores for the campaign for Prefall 2020 to be released.

It’s fun but I’m more interested in the clothes. They are great. I wasn’t ready for the return of the moon boots.

Agreed. I'm in love with the old school horror/sci-fi film poster concept going on her but it's executed very poorly. For starters, the cast is putting absolutely no effort in the project. They're all so static and dead when this concept clearly demands dynamic power and expression. You'd think a cast filled with Hollywood actors would be able to pull it off, but clearly not. It all looks too artificial for my taste, like something off of siduations feed.

Illustrating these looks would've saved this lookbook for me. But even illustrated, I can't get past the hideous clothes, LV just doesn't work in my eyes. I do, however, love Angelica Ross' image because she managed to fit in with the background and overall concept, and she looks fantastic! I'm also intrigued by Deepika's image, I like the matching color of her boots and text. There are some more images that work here, and I guess it's more interesting than whatever he's been doing with campaigns recently, but I'm far from impressed.

I could never have said it better!

Cute but the clothes are still fug af. Highlights are Robyn and Samara Weaving, that girl is gonna blow up. Mark my words.

I wonder how Virgil feels about Nicolas being so obvious about his desire to do menswear. Nicolas attended some Kim’s shows at Vuitton and he definitely respect him as a designer.
Men are buying Nicolas’s sneakers and now his venture into dressing men is going beyond Jaden. And I must say that his menswear is more desirable than Virgil.

Nicolas is great at doing daywear and cocktail dresses but I think his weakness at Vuitton has been doing conventional eveningwear. His eveningwear is sometimes « trying to hard » even if in boutiques, it all comes together nicely.

The artwork is great, authentically 80s and campy but the modeling looks so disconnected and static (as mentioned earlier). It looks like the photographer just directed them to do a standard fashion pose without any consideration for the theme or mood.

Now this is how you do a good presentation. I loved it!

I really couldn't care less about the clothes because the presentation here is everything.
