In the fashion industry, there is no off-season for designers. In between fall and spring, there is pre-fall and resort, where houses further develop the pieces that were well-received, and drop the ones that didn't sell as well. For editors, the in-between seasons are important as well; we see which trends will continue on and which will be deemed "last season."
At the presentation of Luca Luca's gorgeous pre-fall collection, which arrives in stores at the beginning of summer, it was made clear that gone are spring's baby-dolls and waistless dresses that flow away from the body. In their place, Luca Orlandi and his design team, Kaily Huang, Orlandi, Wikki Kruasophon, Raul Melgoza, and Emilio Garcia (from left), presented a long and lean silhouette with a very defined waist. Details appeared in the form of texture: metallic snakeskin, ribbed tights, satin, and geometric beading.

This buttoned-up shirt in silk chiffon is a new take on the femininity of spring's sheer, ethereal fabrics. Here is model Chrissy being primped right before the show.

Luca and his design team played with two kinds of necklines: a '60s-inspired high and round neckline, as modeled by Han, and a sporty shirted collar, seen here on Hye.

This body-conscious, almost aggressive ensemble is a big departure for Luca Luca, normally a favorite among more conservative uptown customers.

Here, metallics are interpreted in a very sophisticated way. To deflect their shine, Orlandi and his design team have placed them alongside mineral and heath colors.
