Lui Autumn 2017 : Sara Sampaio by David Bellemere

I don't like the cover but I do like the two shots of the ed.

SARA
Photographer: David Bellemere
Stylist: Dan Sablon
Hair: Ward Stegerhoek
Make-Up: Courtney Perkins
Model: Sara Sampaio

Lui Digital Edition

PROTOTYPE
Photographer: Gaspar Noé
Stylist: Dan Sablon
Hair: Seb Bascle
Make-Up: Lili Choi
Model: Raica Oliveira

Lui Digital Edition

Wait, they had a shoot by Gaspar Noé and didn't put it on the cover? The images are so striking too with the Gucci catsuit and that lighting...seems like a missed opportunity.

Theirs actually two covers

hadn't seen Raica in like a decade! she's looking fantastic. I love how Gaspar's story accidentally highlights everything that's unnecessary in Sara's story and every "sexy" story in fashion these days... the exaggerated, blogger poses, silly styling, super calculated angles and lighting to flatter the model.. he knows it only takes a red bulb to set a filthy mood, a glittered catsuit and opening the story with a shot of his own voyeuristic camera.

i like the gaspar noé's ed even if some shots are really repetitive ( same for the 'styling') and could have been taken off. But this is sexy, the lighting is great and the model is amazing .

Wow so Sara Sampaio just spoke out on her instagram about the abuse she endured on this shoot and the shady photos David Bellemere took of her topless that were never supposed to come out.

She replied to a fan saying that Bellemere defended her and had nothing to do with it.

How could he have "nothing to do with it"?! He's the PHOTOGRAPHER. If she had a "no nudity" agreement prior to the shoot, he 100% would have known about it. And he still submitted these photos to the magazine for print.

Exactly what I was thinking...

At the end of the day, wasn't David the one who took, retouched, and submitted the photo with Sara's nipples to Lui?! If he was truly "defending" Sara on set, why would he then release and retouch a photo of Sara with her nipples out to the magazine? Especially if there was an agreement that went against nudity - which I'm sure he was aware of considering he is the freaking photographer! It's understandable that in some shots some nipples may pop out. But how did the photos go from his camera to the front cover? Wouldn't he have warned Sara if he was coerced into submitting that shot? She seemed genuinely surprised in her account of the situation that the nudity shot was used for the cover. I doubt the Lui people would have direct access to the footage, the photographer always handles everything. It's just shady. Maybe Sara doesn't want to burn her bridge with David since he's more involved in the fashion scene than say, Lui magazine?

We don’t know the full story especially about who okayed the pictures and sent them to the magazine. But you’re right, she could be saying that so she’d be able to work with him again or avoid a lot of trouble.
