Im so in love with this band... waiting to see them when they come down although from all the reviews on here and from friends I have only heard about bad performances.

Haha, don't worry, I'm sure you will have a great time. I think most of us just expected too much from MGMT because we love them too much.

not a secret but just that you want cool people to like them too not teeny boppers

I saw them at the Virgin Festival and the large crowd kind of repulsed me. Maybe it was the overwhelming hipster population, or I was just bitter that I couldn't see anything because a girl with huge afro in front of me kept on dancing with her arms in the air. I think they should make a rule out of consideration for short people at gigs: No big hair.

^ neither did i!!!! where did they find 10 000 sydney siders to fill the seats?? i logged on 30 minutes after tickets came on sale and they were sold out... then they moved to a bigger venue, put more tickets on sale... and those sold out in 4 minutes.

i was so annoyed, and then flummoxed as to how popular they were in australia!?!?

God, I LOVE this band. Oracular Spectacular is one of the most amazing albums I've heard in SO long! Handshake is THE BEST SONG!

Btw, can anyone suggest (new or old) music/bands/artists similar to MGMT please?

i share your pain.... i missed out on tickets to the melbourne show initially until they changed the venue!

I have to say though this is one of those bands i seriously dont mind about being mainstream. they are just that good.

I've seen them on monday in munich and they were absolutely splendid. I would have never believed them to sound that good live, but they really rocked it. Love them.
