Adopting a schedule that begins the last day of the NY shows and runs through the first three days of the London shows is a recipe for no one to notice you. Such is the tale of Pasarela Cibeles aka Madrid Fashion Week, Feb. 13 - 16.

Jose Miro, Juanco Oliva, Jorge Vazquez

Ion Fiz, Antonio Alvarado, Rafael Lopez (Carmen Maria walking, fresh off a flight from NY.)

Kina Fernandez (Nadine S. in last photo.)

Also, all photos by AP Photo/Fernando Llano.

Montesinos Alama, Kina Fernandez (more Nadine S.; I like her too, purplelucrezia), Andres Sarda

quite unlucky schedule slot for madrid..
 can someone explain why Spain has two fashion weeks?

anyway, i liked a lot the cut of Juanco Oliva,
the choice of dot print at Antonio Alvarado
& both looks by Julie Sohn.

thanks for posting Atelier :flower:

Excellent question, Lena. There's a constant debate about it because the overall country would be far better off hosting one event so they can establish a solid presence on the calendar.

Unlike Sao Paulo and Rio, which complement each other, the fashion relationship between Mardrid and Barcelona seems too adversarial and it's hurting them both. They should get their act together if they want to get attention from non-Spanish buyers, editors and press.

Here are some more designers:

Angel Schlesser, Elio Berhanyer, Roberta Torretta

thankyou for posting the pics :flower: it's a pity that the schedule for the madrid fashion week had to clash with the ny and london dates
