Maison Kitsune designers Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki looked to Paris in the month of August for inspiration, when it is conspicuously devoid of Parisians and overpopulated by foreign tourists. What would the native who stayed behind wear in this “Paris desert,” they asked themselves.

The answer came via a wardrobe based on subtle workwear elements and super-light fabrics.

A sky-blue safari jacket, for instance, came in poplin cotton with the weight of a shirt, while boxy cropped workers’ jackets, which the duo rendered in seersucker as well as a silky pajama fabric, looked fresh and functional.

Elsewhere, the highlight was on white denim for day along with more textured midnight blue qualities, made exclusively for the brand in Japan.

Tiny dots, colorful hibiscus prints and micro-embroideries added some game to the clean yet on-trend collection.
