Maison Margiela Artisanal Haute Couture F/W 2025.26 Paris | the Fashion Spot

Maison Margiela Artisanal Haute Couture F/W 2025.26 Paris

For Noir-dark fantasy fashion, I would take Rick Owens and Jun Takahashi any days over this.

The fact that everyone in the room looks disappointed lol. Music is so fire nevertheless

I, personally, am gagged. This is a show. There is spectacle, incredible tailoring, cohesion, brilliance, armor, beauty, clothes I want to perish in, a great soundtrack, and most importantly, BEAUTY! I am awestruck! GM easily handed me my favourite collection of the season so far!

I think this is great. Closer to the spirit of margiela, a bit more grungy. It’s maybe lacking a conceptual angle, but margiela never did conceptual pieces in artisanal I felt, it was more a line about invention and reinvention of vintage and found materials.

Really well done, it’s a debut that’s not scared or strategic. I’m just very happy the spirit seems restored at margiela, something that was lost a in the shows of john (however excellent they where)

I like the last part, some dresses remind me of Olivier Theyskens's Rochas, stunning I have to say. The song is Disarm by The Smashing Pumpkins If anyone want to know.

Very beautiful. Good debut.
I think it’s great and clever that he went back to the original « Arte povera » spirit of Artisanal. It doesn’t look precious but those pieces, extracted from this context, works.

The thing is that Artisanal was such an intentity of it own at Margiela under Martin and under the studio that it’s almost impossible to guess what from this could be translated in the RTW.

Very « cabinet des curiosités ».

For me it’s probably the most interesting collection of the week. And it makes me excited for what his Margiela is but it also leaves a door open for many things… Because Margiela was many things.

But he is the right choice and the house is in the right hands. And then again…It feels devoid of ego (which probably could be a critic to some).

Was the staging/venue/filming more impressive than the fashion? Maybe yes. However, some of the shots of the models walking down the hall panning from one look the next were breathtaking. Applaud the effort if not completely sold on the final result.

Gorgeous! Those three monochrome jersey dresses with corsets, straight from Dune, were worth the show!
And the three metallic. the white one from behind was stunning! The gold one is basically the one he made for Gaultier in green, but is still striking!

Costumes for creatures from Silent Hill and the infected from The Last of Us video games.

The shimmering golden crinkled gown, the few chiffon gowns/shrouds with the strict bodice, and the closing lemon-yellow gown are the only worthy couturey offerings. Otherwise, it’s just a few ideas overdone into too many variations. Mullet once posted that he’ll likely offer a tattered, stringy denim bikini G-string that’ll look as unhygienic as it likely feels, and that’s the feeling I get from the overwhelming majority of these designs. Except for the handful of gorgeous gowns mentioned, everything else is the literal manifestation of being tarred and feathered.

Those were in my top favourites ! When the white came out, I was stunned. Then the next two and I was sold.
