Maison Margiela Artisanal Haute Couture F/W 2025.26 Paris

Absolutely stunning (minus a couple of looks) but yes music, set and collection were on a precise point. The decadence of the looks and the atmosphere were great.

Im curious to see his RTW.

Good start!

utter trash! very corporate Diesel for Margiela x H&M set included (margiela is more raw and real even when it was theatrical or magial for show....even if not fan of JG margiela it had glimes of that rawness this no )

overworked the same diesel fabric treatments he did already 100x and after JG doll party it's enough for a moment broken doll house in the post fiere etc bla bla also.

i expected something fresh and margiela old school cool and wearable in day time which is modern still then these walking statues for museum

we deserve AI to take over seriously ...

And this is an impressive show. I dare to say it does feel like true couture. I would die to inspect every freaking part of each garment. The metallic taffeta(??) In that coppery gold is such a statement. The best and most creative show of the season?

I did not know Glenn had this in him. That copper gold dress will likely be the dress of the season editorial-wise.

This is great for the brand as artisanal, but now I’m worried about his RTW haha.

idk i can understand why people would be into it. but for me its more rtw/avant-garde than couture. where. are. the. techniques.

The show itsellf was too slow, too boring. i dont wanna see the clothes for that long
It’s Artisanal. It’s not Haute Couture…
John turned it into something that fitted what he was used to but essentially, Margiela Artisanal was always about that idea of elevating everyday objects or old garments into something new.
Really Arte Povera…
It was never about « Metiers d’Arts ».
Ultimately, because of what John has done, now that Margiela is doing Redcarpet and all, it may turn into some sort of hybrid and this is what works here.

Halfway through, it became a bit too Robert Wun (derogatory) for me, but those last few dresses + the dress with the sleeves that looks like glass shards WERE GORGEOUS

It was a good debut, much more interesting than Galliano's collections, but he needs to edit more. There were too many looks, and some were unnecessary, like the draped metallic dresses or the black cloak. I loved the fabric treatment and colour palette.
