it's not that she can't walk in high heels (dunno maybe she really can't), it's just that she's too tall for heels...I've heard she's 190 cm

i would love to see maja all "glamourized" and i would be very bored to just see her in usual print or show work that usually suits her look. it's such a great time for change!

I think she won't last long. Regarding her walk being rumored as terrible, I doubt she's used to high heels being this tall (plus she doesn't need them ahah) so that makes it a problem. So no way she'll get booked for shows which require high heels...that's another disadvantage of hers.

In my opinion, her NY agency realized she's still new to all of this and therefor didn't want to put her in such position (runway) where she would look bad/unprepared for it + also I believe they didn't want to 'ruin' this whole photoshoped editorial look they created by putting her on the runway. She doesn't really look modelesque to me (in real life), more like a basketball player.

For example, both Karlie and Frida are tall, but I don't think they're taller than 185 cm and being taller than most of models, they have hard times booking lots of shows. Frida is doing well coz of her doll-like face but Karlie, well, she's Karlie. Maja is not Karlie, she's not sexy at all, she's not as graceful as Frida. So that's why I'm a bit sceptic about her.

Looking closely at her pics, she's always got the same expression in all of them, except in one in which she's smiling.

She can't be more than one or two-season wonder. She just can't be transformed that much. Runway?-few shows maybe. Eds?-probably but they're not payed (well). Campaigns?-how if she's not doing runway work? At least I see it that way + language difficulties! Therefor her modeling future doesn't look that bright to me.

She was doing castings in NY. How come she didn't book anything if she got super response? Where's the guy who said we'll definitely see her walking? I just don't like pretentious rumours about certain models, like Givenchy/Balenciaga exclusives and then it doesn't happen.

You're giving this thread so much negative energy, I can't quite understand the reason(s) behind it.

We haven't seen Maja walk nor have we seen her talk or behave badly. Creating drama by feeding off of a negative rumour is quite irrelevant to this thread, it isn't even a constructive criticism!

Maja's inability to walk (in heels) or speak the language as a contributor to the permanent career damage, is hardly something that's impossible to master.
Quite cynical considering the amount of models in today's industry being in the exact same position.
What about the "top models" who are falling flat on their faces walking Versace, Chloe etc yet getting booked for every single high profiled show/campaign? On top of that these girls are veterans, while Maja is only a baby with 10(?)months of experience.

Considering the comparisson to the other tall models, Maja doesn't have to be sexy or doll like. There are already Karlie and Frida fulfilling those categories. Karlie on the other hand has busted her bum to overcome the prejudice of the industry and she started of being anything but sexy.

On the positive note, I'm so proud of Maja for scoring the two prestige publications; Dazed&Confused and The Last Magazine, looking quite amazing.

If Kirsi Pirhonen can do it, so can you Maja!

I believe that everyone is being realistic and true to their opinions, that's why there's a debate. I'm sure that her thread would have been created sooner or later considering the hype but congrats for being the first one!
