Make-Up Schools? (in NYC?)

Hi, I'm thewannabe, and I'm a make-up challenged nerd (and fashion-challenged, but that's a different story).

Other than doing-it-yourself and timed experience, I'm sick of being such an 'amateur' at make-up. So I'm hoping to learn about make-up through proper guided instruction: Cosmetology/Esthetician School.

What schools have you heard of and recommend? I would prefer to relocate from my current nerdy/anti-style city of Seattle to NYC. I'm overwhelmed by the options I've found online over there. Any help?
